Flute concerto in Zagreb

The piece was commissioned by Cantus Ansambl in 2018 and had the premiere in december 2019 under the baton of B. Sipus and the flute of R. Fabbriciani. The piece was inspired by the multiple colors that R. Fabbriciani’s flute offers to the composer. The flute, far from being a simple soloist, becomes a human being who seeks to speak, to communicate with the listener. Many of the phrases in the first movement are more about words than melody. The second movement creates a sonic stasis, a sort of relaxation with its slow and expressionless metronome. The third movement is a kind of precision mechanism in which the flute reasserts its desire to speak to the audience within the spaces allowed by the orchestra.
